Terms & privacy policy

A plain-language, transparent version: who we are, what we do with beneficiary data, and what your rights are as a partner.

An important note

This document is a clear summary of our core commitments about data and privacy. It covers the data of beneficiaries, specialists and parents who interact through our platform.

Who we are

  • Athar is a software platform for managing special needs, rehabilitation, therapy and early intervention centers.
  • We operate the platform as a cloud service and provide centers with a system to manage their beneficiaries and specialists.
  • You — as the center — control the data you enter, and you are responsible for its accuracy.

What data we process

  • Beneficiary data: name, core details, assessment, goals, session records, attendance and payments.
  • Specialist and user data: name, email, role and activity log.
  • Parent data: name, contact details, and what is shared with them through the portal.
  • We need this data to deliver the service you requested, and for no marketing purpose of our own.

How we use the data

  • To operate the platform: store records, compute reports, enforce permissions and send the notifications you asked for.
  • We do not sell beneficiary data to anyone and do not share it for marketing.
  • We do not use real beneficiary data to trial the system for other users.
  • Access by our team to customer data is limited to what the task requires and recorded in the audit trail.

How we protect the data

  • Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Role-based access permissions, so nobody sees a record they do not need.
  • An audit log for every change to sensitive data.
  • Regular backups that allow restoration.
  • Technical and organizational measures protecting our operating environment.

Your rights as a partner

  • Export: you can request a complete copy of your data in clear formats at any time.
  • Correction: you can edit your beneficiaries’ data at any time through your permissions.
  • Deletion: you can delete the data of a beneficiary no longer in your care, subject to retention requirements that apply to you.
  • Termination: if you end the service, your data is handed over and is not retained for commercial use.
  • Enquiries: for any question about your data, contact us directly.

If a breach occurs

  • We follow a documented incident response process to establish what was affected and assess the impact.
  • We notify affected centers individually, with a clear account of what happened and what representatives require.
  • We work to remediate the vulnerability and apply the lesson across our own systems.

Please note

  • This document summarizes our core commitments and is not a detailed legal contract. The agreement between you and us sets out the specifics.
  • Athar is a management and follow-up tool. It does not provide medical diagnosis and does not replace the medical record or a specialist’s consultation.
  • Responsibility for retaining data for statutory or legal purposes rests with your center, according to the requirements that apply to you.
